Bookings

Bookings can be made in person or over the phone but please note that they are filling up very quickly. Our friendly reception team are always happy to answer questions and will always do their best to help you with your bookings.

If a suitable appointment time is not available, you will be provided with a number of options including the next available time with your preferred Doctor, an alternative Doctor, or our daily cancellation list (more info below).

It can be helpful for our bookings & Doctors’ time management if you are happy to advise reception of the general nature of your visit. This is not necessary but can be helpful.

Online booking can be made here.

PLEASE NOTE
THE FOLLOWING APPOINTMENTS MUST BE MADE OVER THE PHONE

All Medicals – including Insurance, Fitness to Drive

New patients

New patients and visitors are warmly welcomed at BMH. All new patients must book by phone or in person. Please remember to bring your Medicare card and concession card, as well as any current medications to your initial appointment. Please note that new patients are not currently able to book online for their initial appointment.

Script Clinics

Repeat scripts will no longer be written outside of consults, but to make life a little easier, we are now running Script Clinics throughout the week. These are quick, bulk billed phone consults with our Doctors for repeat scripts only. Bookings can now be made in advance (as of 1st Oct. 2020), so please call us to organise your appointments.

  • MUST BE A REGULAR PATIENT (seen in person by one of our Doctors within the last 12months)
  • MUST BE FOR REPEAT SCRIPTS ONLY (antibiotics may not be able to be prescribed during these clinics)
  • S8 MEDICATIONS requiring phone authority may not be able to be prescribed during these clinics

Cancellation Lists

We run cancellation lists as a back-up for when we are fully booked. These lists do refresh each day. We encourage patients to call us from 8:30am weekdays and from 9am Saturdays to go on the list.

“ON THE DAY” Appointments

There are spots reserved for bookings throughout the week. These appointments are not able to be booked ahead of time by reception, but sometimes are used up by our Doctors, so they are not always available every day. We encourage patients to call us from 8:30am weekdays and from 9am Saturdays to check for availability of these reserved appointments.

Fees

BMH is a private practice, with mixed billing (Bulk Billing available at the Doctor’s discretion). In order to provide the best possible customer service, we are able to be flexible regarding payment of accounts by granting 30 day payment terms for our patients. We believe in providing accessible, timely care for our patients. Please ask reception for more information.

Our Eftpos machines are equipped with Medicare Easyclaim for quick and easy rebate returns.

Payment is preferred on the day. GAP ONLY payments are accepted.

What is a Gap?

The Department of Human Services Medicare Program provides a financial contribution towards certain medical services, called a rebate. Unfortunately, over the years the Medicare Rebate has not kept up with the costs of running a Private Practice. The Gap is the extra cost on top of the Medicare Rebate that makes up the recommended fee for service, according to the Australian Medical Association. This is an out of pocket expense.
