New patients

For a long time it was near impossible for new residents to find a regular GP, but thankfully times have changed. New patients and visitors are warmly welcomed at BMH.

Please remember to bring your Medicare card and concession card to your appointments.

Fees

BMH is a private practice, with mixed billing (Bulk Billing available at the Doctor’s discretion). In order to provide the best possible customer service, we are able to be flexible regarding payment of accounts by granting 30 day payment terms for our patients. We believe in providing accessible, timely care for our patients. Please ask reception for more information.

Our Eftpos machines are equipped with Medicare Easyclaim for quick and easy rebate returns.

Payment is preferred on the day. GAP ONLY payments are accepted.

What is a Gap?

The Department of Human Services Medicare Program provides a financial contribution towards certain medical services, called a rebate. Unfortunately, over the years the Medicare Rebate has not kept up with the costs of running a Private Practice. The Gap is the extra cost on top of the Medicare Rebate that makes up the recommended fee for service, according to the Australian Medical Association. This is an out of pocket expense.
